relax.

Yesterday in my psychology class we were discussing the effects of stress. Seriously and honestly I had always believed that being a typically unhappy person would cause health problems. (I developed this belief after studying the chakras). But I was pretty surprised when they linked stress to all illnesses, even cancer! (not too surprised though as everything now seems to cause cancer.) So I wasn't so shocked that it's true, but mostly because they were teaching it in this class. How do I say this... the class is VERY scientific. They don't use a lot of common sense and tend to study the 'animal instincts' of humans. Basically treating human's like robots and believing that we are all the same and can be outlined in a general textbook. (grr... it makes me mad.) psychology scientists disregard our ability to CHOOSE a response. They think we are all on auto-pilot.
If the past in any indication of how much we know now.... most of what we know now is incorrect.

There are three types of stresses: 1. Catastrophes: natural disaster stress, combat stress, etc. 2. Significant life changes: death of a loved one, divorice, loss of job, moving.

3. Daily Hassles: rush hour traffic, long lines, job stress, lack of sleep, etc.
-out of all of these stresses the daily stress is most dangerous!

So what does this tell us all??

RELAX!

Warning: watching a horror film or any kind of intense movie is not relaxing- dispite what people think.
Journaling is a great way to de-stress. along with exersicing, being in possitive social environments, meditation, (yoga), and spirituality!

Besides, isn't everyone's Life way more enjoyable when you're not rushing through it?

I just found this so exciting! So next time you are relaxing or taking a day off work even when you're not sick, don't think that you're doing nothing.
... you are making yourself healthier!! JOY.
